The Marriage Blessing
A spiritual ceremony of recommitment to marriage centered on God — designed so that any pastor, in any denomination, can bring the renewal of the family into their own church.
Why the Blessing Matters
From Individual Salvation to Family Salvation
Most churches center on personal faith — a relationship between the individual and God. But from the very beginning, God's design was the family. Genesis doesn't end with a single person in relationship with the Creator. It begins with male and female, joined together, blessed to be fruitful — a family.
The Marriage Blessing is ACLC's answer to that original design. It equips pastors with something most churches simply don't have: a structured, spiritual ministry dedicated to the sanctification of marriage. Not counseling. Not a weekend retreat. A sacred process that shifts couples from brokenness to covenant.
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number.’”Genesis 1:27–28
The Urgency
The American Family Is in Crisis
Marriage is the cornerstone of every community. When the family fractures, everything built on it — congregations, neighborhoods, nations — fractures with it.
The majority of marriages in America now end in separation or divorce, leaving a generation of children growing up without the stability of an intact family.
Most churches lack a marriage ministry. Pastors counsel individual members, but very few have a dedicated, structured program for strengthening and sanctifying marriages.
The epidemic of family breakdown drives the crises pastors see every week — youth violence, addiction, poverty, fatherlessness — yet the root cause goes unaddressed from the pulpit.
Pastors see the symptoms every Sunday.
The Blessing addresses the root.
ACLC gives clergy the one thing they're missing — a family ministry that goes beyond counseling and into spiritual covenant.

What It Is
A Sacred Recommitment, Not a Replacement
The Holy Marriage Blessing is a spiritual ceremony of recommitment to marriage centered on God. It is not a legal wedding and not a replacement for existing marriages. It is a renewal — a covenant act that sanctifies the union and places the family at the center of God's Kingdom.
For decades, ACLC pastors traveled to Korea for large Blessing ceremonies. Now, ACLC is bringing the Blessing home. Pastors host the Blessing in their own churches, making it a local ministry rather than a pilgrimage. ACLC provides all materials, training, and support.
The Blessing is not denominational. It is not clinical. It is a prophetic, spiritual tool that any pastor can bring into their own pulpit, their own tradition, their own congregation.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is the Marriage Blessing?+
The Marriage Blessing is a sacred ceremony of recommitment to marriage centered on God. It includes a period of education and preparation, a purification ceremony, the Blessing ceremony itself, and ongoing support. It is a spiritual renewal — not a legal wedding and not a replacement for your existing marriage.
Do I have to leave my denomination to participate?+
No. The Blessing works within any faith tradition. You remain in your own church and denomination. ACLC is a united federation of churches — joining means adding a family ministry to your church, not changing your affiliation. As ACLC frames it: "Maintaining your denomination, but joining a united federation for the sake of restoring the nation through rebuilding families."
What is ACLC’s relationship with the Family Federation?+
ACLC is associated with the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, founded by Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. The Marriage Blessing originated within this movement and has been conducted worldwide for decades. ACLC brings this ministry specifically to Christian clergy and churches across America.
Can I host the Blessing in my own church?+
Yes — this is the new direction of ACLC’s ministry. Rather than traveling to Korea for large ceremonies, pastors are now trained to host the Marriage Blessing in their own congregations. ACLC provides all materials, training, and support to make this possible. Register as a Family Church Alliance to get started.
How is this different from marriage counseling?+
Marriage counseling addresses symptoms. The Blessing addresses the spiritual root. It is a structured process of education, purification, and sacred covenant — designed to shift couples from patterns of brokenness to a God-centered foundation. Many pastors who offer counseling have found the Blessing gives them a spiritual mechanism for renewal that counseling alone cannot provide.
Is there a cost to participate?+
The Blessing education materials and ceremonies are offered as part of ACLC’s ministry. Family Church Alliance membership provides full access to resources, training, and the clergy network. Contact ACLC for current details on membership.
