He quoted from Genesis 7, and Genesis 18 how God saw that it was not good for man to be alone, but how He provided someone suitable for him. Elder Ragans expounded on the point that family is the first and most important institution on earth. He quoted from Matthew 19:4-12, how male and female he created; there should be no homosexuality. He quoted from Leviticus 20:10 that intimacy is only between married couples. I Peter 3:1 talked about wives that will be reverent and chaste, and by their good behaviors can help turn their husbands closer to the Word. In his time as choir director he has had 13 couples get married with more on the way. He said it is not an accident. As he stood at the podium with his wife to receive his award, he said, “I don’t believe in erotic, immoral relationships. Pastor Twitty gave the keynote address on “Faith and Family.” He explained the lives of Abraham and Lot, citing Abraham’s living for the sake of others. He talked about Lot’s steadfastness to leave Sodom and Gomorrah and keeping his eyes on God’s will and not looking back. He also gave scriptural internal guidance for relations between husband and wife, and parents and children.
