Archbishop Stallings gave an introduction that piqued everyone’s interest when he said that until he encountered the OSDP, all of the theology he studied had as its foundation of the theology of atonement, whereas OSDP is the first theology that comes from the perspective of God’s original ideal. He asked everyone to consider this new paradigm as they listened. He said we are here in the spirit of Jesus’ direction to have new wineskins (Matt. 9:17)....

Rev. Dr. Michael Jenkins led the study sessions, which were focused on a deeper look at the mission of Jesus and John the Baptist. He pointed out that although the Pharisees taught the Mosaic Law, they couldn’t understand Jesus, and went on to say that we need to light up a new path for the people. There was a time God didn’t want Israel to mix with other people. There has also been separation among denominations – Lutheran, Baptist, etc. However, this is a new time of new wine and new wine skins. ...

“Gathering Wisdom, Building Families, & Establishing Peace in the 21st Century”

A team of ACLC pastors and lay ministers planned the 8th annual Montana ACLC conference, held April 9th in Billings, from 9:00 to 2:00. The 63 participants included all races (Native American, African American, Hispanic, Asian and White), with clergy, teachers, youth leaders and community leaders making presentations and leading discussions. One key focus was including the heart of healing for Native Americans....

The main presentation was part of a study on the topic of Resurrection from “Living,” a small group study curriculum. We used session 1: the Meaning of Life and Death. Minister Ella Byrne, our Northwest district ACLC coordinator, had chosen the material. In the video presentation the Reverend Kevin McCarthy elaborated on “life” and “death” from the spiritual perspective using many Bible verses. ...

The four hundred year course the Israelites took to go from Egypt to the land of Canaan is a long one. However it is rich in lessons for us today. Rev. Weston paused along the way to gain insight into each of them. For example, when Moses came down from the mountain with the tablets he found the people worshiping the golden calf. He broke the tablets and then fasted forty days to gain them again. Rev. Weston led a discussion on both points, how pastors need to control their feelings, and two, how they take up the responsibility for the failures of the congregation....

ACLC-Detroit Partnership Program: Commitment to Christ Seminar and Ceremony

The idea for the program came to Dr. Sophia Crocheron at one of our ACLC pastors’ Forums in Detroit. As we were studying the topic of the Three Blessings a discussion of marriage lead to the discussion of the many single women who are in need of spiritual help. She designed this program to support them. We made a plan for Dr. Crocheron to partner with ACLC to put on these programs. ...

Bishop Edwards gave a lively, spirit-filled talk entering around Hebrews 6:1, about leaving the elementary principles of Christ and going on to perfection. He talked about the need for New Wine for New Wineskins, comparing the way glass helps to see things more clearly. ...
